The gameplay is just so goddamn fun and tight, and the big moments really hit super well. I just wrapped up Ragnarok around 40 minutes ago and man, I love that game to death. But even so, God of War III, there's nothing else like it in terms of how grand that game is in scale and how every boss battle is better than the last.
Review Embargo is almost over :) Man I havenāt been this hyped for a game in years, only a few hours to go till the God of War Ragnarok review embargo is lifted, so excited to watch and read the reviews, another game of the year incoming ;) 9.
Review Price: Ā£37.73. On the surface, thereās not a great deal to love about Kratos. Heās a vicious, ruthless, amoral son-of-a-gun who wouldnāt be able to make it to the supermarket without
Is God of war really that good? I tried playing it once, and I only got about 5 hours in and ended up stopping for maybe a dumb reason. I felt like it wasn't "difficult" at higher difficulties in a satisfying way, rather it felt like enemies just became tanks/ damage sponges.
Giant Bomb is a bit weird for me. Not in a bad way, just that they're becoming less of the traditional game sites. It feels like they're like "early Rooster Teeth" years (people you like and want to hear their opinion on games), except that they have more insight and experience when critiquing games and you'll have to watch Quick Looks (or other series) or listen to them on their podcasts
God of War Ragnarok is awful. Anyone else think this game is total trash? The combat is absolutely terrible. Lock on doesnāt work half the time, parrying doesnāt work as it should, allies are fucking useless. World feels empty as hell, quests are overly long and boring. Enemies are very limited, just copied and pasted with a few tweaks.
His whole arc in the original games paints him as a broken man with an insatiable lust for vengeance. GoW (2018) is essentially both a continuation and a soft reboot for the series. Fatherhood has softened and matured Kratos somewhat, but his past comes back to haunt him again and again.
If you have a PS3, Danteās Inferno is similar to GOW. Horizon Zero Dawn & Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima are all phenomenal open world games with really fun gameplay/combat and tons to explore and do. Hellblade: Senua's sacrifice is an amazing game. Combat and camera angle is very similar to Gow.
